A 12-year-old Sphynx cat recently presented for a routine senior check-up, with the owner reporting weight loss as the primary concern. Given the cat’s age, we proceeded with blood work to establish a baseline—only to uncover a diagnosis of diabetes mellitus.
Further investigation through abdominal ultrasound revealed multiple concerning findings:
📍 Mass at the tail of the pancreas
📍 Multiple anechoic lesions in the liver
📍 Multiple masses within the stomach
The cat has been started on insulin therapy and is currently awaiting fine-needle aspiration (FNA).
This case serves as a reminder of the importance of routine senior check-ups—early detection allows for timely intervention and better case management.
